Response to international workshop organized by Berlin Convention Office (BCO) exceeds expectations

Record attendance at “Meeting Place Berlin 2009”: 146 national and international hosted buyers are expected to visit the workshop in the German capital organized by Berlin Convention Office, a subsidiary of Berlin Tourismus Marketing GmbH (BTM). Event organizers for associations, companies and agencies will have the opportunity from July 02 to 06, 2009 to get to know Berlin as a professional and diverse convention destination. Germany’s no. 1 convention metropolis, meanwhile, is further gaining significance: attendance figures rose by 52 percent on “Meeting Place Berlin 2007” (2007: 96 hosted buyers).

The Museum of Technology, venue for “Meeting Place 2009”, is bound to thrill trade visitors and suppliers alike. 47 representatives of Berlin’s conventions and events industry will be promoting the capital’s meetings and conventions offers and its excellent value-for-money deals to visitors from 20 countries (including Italy, USA and Russia). Presentations will include Europe’s most modern hotel landscape, numerous cultural institutions, event agencies, and more.

In addition to the trade workshop, the BCO will offer an attractive supporting program in association with its partner associations “BTM-Partnerhotels e.V.” and “BTM Partneragenturen Berlin e.V.”. Participants of the workshop will join visits to various locations in order to get to know convention and design hotels, as well as event venues in Berlin. Attending a classical open-air concert at the “Gendarmenmarkt” marks the highlight of the supporting program.
