The floating convention center at Mercure Hotel Hamburg City (www.mercure.com) placed second in the “event location” category of the Conga Awards, which are considered to be the most important awards for the meetings and conventions industry in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The Conga award ceremony was held alongside the STB, the leading trade fair for the German events industry, at Messe Berlin’s “Marshall-Haus”. 25,000 experts and personnel development managers had voted for their favorites in these “Oscars of the events industry”. They could choose from a list of ten categories, each featuring the ten top scorers previously nominated by a jury of experts.

“Kai 10”, Germany’s first floating events and meetings center, is an innovative venue for meetings and festivities. Hotel manager Bernd Mensing said, “the location on the ‘Mittelkanal’ fits perfectly to this Hanseatic city, which lives on its exceptional location by the sea.” Comprising two multi-functional event halls and situated on an area of 450 square meters, “Kai 10” offers state-of-the-art equipment and Hanseatic ambience for meetings in style. Mercure Hotel Hamburg City has another seven meeting rooms at its disposal. “Particularly in regards to business events, more and more companies are looking for special event locations that offer a unique experience. Be it an unusual business lunch, fine dining, an after-work party or a club night – ‘Kai 10′ can arrange for a wide range of events,” Mensing added.

The futuristic architecture of “Kai 10” can also provide an original setting for private occasions, such as parties or weddings. Guests can enjoy the evening sun at a lounge atop the loading canal and later go below deck to celebrate. Sun worshippers may relax on the club terrace directly above the water. The cultural program of the metropolis, meanwhile, is only a few steps away.
