In Indonesia the tourism is an important component of the economy and a significant source of income. In 2016 a total of 12 million arrivals were counted. Especially the islands Bali and Java are famous tourism destinations but also Jakarta with its non-safe reputations is a place to go for travelers.
Most of the visitors are arriving from the neighbour states Singapore, Malaysia, China and Australia but due to the terrorist attacks in 2002 and 2005 in Bali, Australian authorities are frequently imposing terror warnings.
For investors and hotel groups Indonesia is still full of potential. 112 hotel projects are currently in the pipeline, special focus remains of Jakarta and Bali with more than 25 projects each.
