The highly anticipated China Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE) 2015 was successfully held for the second time at the Xi’an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Centre. Covering an area of approximately 20,000 square metres, the three day event welcomed approximate 500 exhibitors and buyers from 33 countries, regions and provinces. On 11 September 2015, a trade-visitors only day, CXSRITE 2015 attracted approximately 3,000 professionals from the tourism industry. The exhibition also attracted more than 40,000 public visitors from 12 – 13 September 2015.

China will be the host of the next UNWTO General Assembly, as decided by 21st UNWTO General Assembly (Medellín, Colombia, 15 September 2015).The 22nd Session of the Assembly, the most important global meeting of senior tourism officials and high-level representatives of the private tourism sector, will take place in Chengdu, China, in 2017.

Sponsored sessions aimed at captive engagement with select audiences are at an all-time high this IT&CMA 2015, with exclusive networking functions on 30 September hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Dubai Business Events and Tourism Promotions Board Philippines. Having reaped results from past sponsored networking functions at IT&CMA, Seoul Metropolitan Government, is delighted to return as a luncheon host for buyer and media delegates.

Tunisia, Ecuador, Macao (China), Hungary, Palestine, Maldives and Colombia were the winners of the first UNWTO Tourism Video Competition, organized on the occasion of the 21st UNWTO General Assembly. 51 UNWTO Full and Associate Members submitted their promotional videos to the competition. The regional winners were based on votes by the chairs of the Regional Commissions, while people from all over the world voted for their favorite in the People’s choice category. The winner, Colombia, gained 5823 out of the more than 22 500 recorded votes.

Walled Garden as new supplementary service for tourists and locals
Since 15th September free WLAN is available at four locations in Stuttgart’s city centre. And there’s also a special supplementary service: both the city’s inhabitants and tourists from home and abroad can access tailor-made information all about Stuttgart via a special mobile portal, known as the “walled garden”.
