“Dr. Karsten gave us timely warning of his private plans, so we could plan and prepare a well-organised transition at the top of the company. His successor has already been chosen and will be announced in the coming weeks,” according to Dr. Franz Jurkowitsch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Vienna International, “We thank Dr. Karsten for three years of extremely successful cooperation; since 2011 Dr. Karsten has strategically re-established the company for the future and by means of acquisitions has significantly expanded and sustainably enhanced our earnings potential. He has also managed to successfully position VI in the real estate sector in addition to our hotel business and prepared us for the planned stock market flotation.
