The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) — the voice of the global business travel industry – today launched its pre-conference GBTA Academy education programme. Delegates attending the GBTA Europe conference in Prague, Czech Republic were invited to participate in a choice of two pre-conference education programmes to maximise their ROI whilst out of the office.
The Fundamentals of Business Travel Management™ is a course for beginners, designed to cover the key facets of managed travel. Over two days delegates cover all aspects of business travel management, managing the supplier relationship, security and risk management, travel technology basics and measuring success, trends, forecasting and reporting value.
The second is the internationally recognised Global Travel Professional™ (GTP) Certification, launched last year, to raise industry standards and recognise individuals who demonstrate core competencies essential to the business travel management discipline. The certification is based on experience as well as continual learning through a study guide, reading list and examination.
To retain the certification, holders are required to recertify every three years by earning 50 recertification credits or retaking the examination as well as paying the recertification fee, and signing continued adherence to the GTP code of Professional Conduct.
The GTP examination is taking place today and those already certified will receive six recertification credits for attendance at the GBTA Europe Conference.
“GBTA continues to expand its training and development offerings to members through the GBTA Academy, providing a personalised and customised learning path for buyers new to the industry through to seasoned professionals wanting to gain the only accredited certification in global business travel. It’s great to see so many members participating in these courses and using the opportunity whilst at the conference to gain further qualifications.” said Catherine McGavock, GBTA’s Regional Director for Europe.
