The Annual Skålite ‘Quality in Tourism’ Awards were presented at the ceremony held at Çırağan Palace Kempinski. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Intra Tours DMC received 2010 Skålite Award in the Incoming Travel Agency category. Intra Chairman Ertugrul Karaoğlu, who received the award, commented that he is very happy to receive Skålite Quality Award second year in a row.

ETOA will be running several events in 2011 looking at various aspects of city tourism, with City Fair in London being the highest profile of these. City tourist boards and operators will come together for a full-day workshop following ETOA’s tried and tested model.

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has renewed its memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Africa Travel Association (ATA) to encourage the sustainable development of the travel-and-tourism industry to Africa.
