Ralf Teckentrup was re-elected president of the German Airline Association (BDF) by a general meeting in Berlin which unanimously confirmed the 51-year old in the association’s highest position for another two years.

Teckentrup had first been elected president of the BDF in 2007. Under his presidency, the BDF has developed into a leading voice of the industry over the course of the past two years. Teckentrup is committed to promoting stronger cooperation between system partners in aviation and made the issues of infrastructure development, liberalization and improvements in production conditions for German airlines the focal points of the association’s agenda.

Aside from representing the interests of its members in German politics, the BDF serves as permanent contact for national and international aeronautical authorities, such as the German Federal Office of Civil Aeronautics and EASA.

For more than five years, Teckentrup has been leading the long-established Condor airline as chairman of the management board and is a member of the board at Thomas Cook AG. He is married with two children.

The German Airline Association (BDF) represents most of Germany’s air carriers (scheduled, charter and low fare) before parliament, government administration and airports. Its member airlines are among the safest in the industry and transport more than 120 million passengers worldwide each year, generating revenues of nearly EUR 27 billion. The BDF associated airlines employ more than 120,000 people.
