The hotel industry is growing, with several hundreds of new hotels being built and planned in Germany. There are no signs of a slump in hotel development. According to a recent analysis by tophotelprojects.com, 334 new hotels comprising a total of 60,453 rooms are currently being developed. Of these projects, most (almost 53% percent) are positioned in the first-class segment, with twelve percent ranging in the luxury segment. In regards to renovation and upgrading projects (presently 108 properties with a total of 13,111 rooms), the comfort and first-class categories are the most well represented with 27% and 51%, respectively. 3,500 first-class and luxury hotels comprising a total of 869,000 rooms are being developed worldwide.
