Taipei for 1 Euro

Travelers flying Eva Air or China Airlines with stopover in Taiwan get to stay in luxury hotels

Culture, shopping, night-time markets and city flair – the metropolis of Taipei attracts stopover visitors with a colorful mix of traditions and modern spirit. From July 2009 on, Taiwan Tourism Office’s new 1-euro promotion will make the great metropolis available to travelers on a small budget. Those visiting the Taiwanese capital via China Airlines or Eva Air up to and including November 2009 will be spending their first night in a choice of luxury hotels for just one euro. German tour operators, too, are providing a generous contingent for accommodation.

Taipei brings together hip lifestyle and culturally rich history: Both, fans of shopping and night owls will be captured by the city’s lifestyle, while those with an interest in culture or in need of recreation will find temples, ancient ceremonies and hot springs. The National Palace Museum holds the world’s largest collection of Chinese works of art, the Taipei 101, once the tallest building in the world, signifies modern architecture and the ultimate shopping paradise. On the night markets, vendors outperform each other with traditional products, clothing, fresh fruits, little snacks and all kinds of other things, while the night clubs are filled with young people dancing and singing the night away. The whole city offers premium spa temples – from natural hot springs to professional massages at up-scale hotels. Gourmets, meanwhile, rave about the Taiwanese cuisine: A multitude of restaurants and street stalls spoil visitors to Taiwan with everything from far-east treats to national delicacies.

Travelers from Germany can book the “1€ Taipeh total” stopover offer directly with tour operators Meier’s Weltreisen, Explorer, Dertour, ID Reisewelt and Lastminute.de. The 1-euro promotion is valid from July to November 2009.
