Tourism Marketing Company Saxony (TMGS) will be showcasing the Free State of Saxony as “Art Hall Saxony” at ITB Berlin from March 11 to 15. Airline announces additional routes and increased frequencies for the upcoming nine months at the launch of ITB Berlin. The air carrier seems unaffected by the global economic situation
New destinations in Europe, Australia and India are top priorities in the expansion of Qatar Airways in the upcoming months. The airline announced in a press conference yesterday at ITB in Berlin that the Australian cities of Sydney and Melbourne will be added to the airline’s route portfolio in the course of the next nine months.

CBS Subsidy Award at the ITB on Sunday, March 15, 2009
This year, creative junior practitioners in tourism will again be able to show their worth and pocket big prizes. At the award ceremony of the CBS Subsidy Award, high school graduates who have developed visionary concepts for the tourism industry will be granted a scholarship for Cologne Business School amounting to 50,000 euros.

This is the theme that this year’s ITB Berlin was opened under on Tuesday at the International Convention Center. This year’s partner is the metropolis region of Rhine Ruhr.
The word of the evening was uttered early
“I am certain that the region can take on the leading forces of international tourism!” These were the words that Mayor Klaus Wowereit welcomed the representatives from the Ruhr region with. That was the extent of the hymns of praise, however. The social democrat used the remainder of his designated speech time for promoting Berlin.
