As the fifth IMEX America closed today, IMEX Group Chairman Ray Bloom announced that, in every important facet, the show had achieved new records.
A total of 3,100 companies representing 150 countries exhibited including 80 new booths and 56 expanded booths while the IMEX hosted buyer program brought a record 3000 buyers from 54 countries to the show. Over 10,600 people participated in the event. There were 66,000 business appointments of which over 57,000 were one-to-one appointments and booth presentations. The proportion of these appointments that had profiles attached online had risen to 51% enabling both buyers and exhibitors to be better prepared for their meetings.

London’s tourism boom has continued during the second quarter of 2015, with the city welcoming a record 5.1 million international visitors between April and June this year, six per cent more than the same period last year, according to the Office for National Statistics International Passenger Survey (IPS). Tourist spending over the same period was £3.2 billion, an eight per cent increase compared with the second quarter of 2014. Over the past five years (2009-2014), the number of overseas visitors coming to London has risen by 22.5 per cent.

After months of preparation, the World Space Conference takes place at the Jerusalem International Convention Center. The convention opened this week, led by the Israeli Space Agency, Ministry of Science and attended by representatives of international space agencies. Approximately 2,000 delegates from 60 countries, , including leaders of the world’s major space agencies, the global space industry leaders, astronauts, scientists and managers of major projects in the field of space, are attending the six days convention. The Minister of Science, Mr. Ofir Akunis, and the Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Nir Barkat, also took place at the opening ceremony.
