Berlin moves up to 3rd place in the “Europe’s Best Cities” ranking. German capital scores particularly well in the cultural sector. Berlin is liveable, lovable and thriving: this is confirmed by the Europe’s Best Cities“ report for 2024, as the German capital takes third place in Resonance Consultancy’s ranking, moving up an impressive four places compared to last year. Together with London and Paris, Berlin is now one of the three best cities in Europe. For the city ranking, over 180 European cities were assessed in the three areas of “Livability”, “Lovability” and “Prosperity”.
Every year, the consultancy Resonance Consultancy analyzes statistics and reviews from locals and guests on platforms such as TripAdvisor, Google, Facebook and Instagram. The focus is on quality of life (livability), love of the city (lovability) and economic growth (prosperity). And this is where Berlin stands out among the 180 European cities. Above all, the art and culture scene in the twelve neighborhoods is colorful and changes almost daily. Traditional events such as the Berlinale, the Carnival of Cultures and the Fête de la Musique attract visitors to the city, as do temporary exhibitions. One of this year’s cultural highlights is the exhibition “Caspar David Friedrich – Infinite Landscapes”, which can be seen in the Alte Nationalgalerie from April 19 to August 4. The collections of the Ethnological Museum and the Museum of Asian Art of the National Museums in Berlin will be newly presented in the Humboldt Forum. New openings include the Fotografiska Berlin in the former Kunsthaus Tacheles and the THF Tower at the former Tempelhof Airport.
