Everyone should have made this trip at least once: From Berlin with the Flixtrain quickly, safely and punctually to Cologne, on foot from the train station directly to the Cologne swing bridge. Here the Rhein Melodie, a river cruise ship from Nicko Cruise, is already waiting and off you go across the Rhine to Strasbourg and back.
A special experience was the cable car in Koblenz – a floating landmark on the Rhine
The Koblenz Cable Car, also known as the Buga Cable Car or Rhine Cable Car, is one of the city’s most impressive attractions. It was built in 2010 on the occasion of the Federal Garden Show and connects the Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer with the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress – high above the Rhine.
Germany’s first three-cable gondola lift with a transport capacity: up to 7,600 people per hour on a route: 890 metres , 112 metres in altitude and powered by an environmentally friendly electric motor with green electricity. The cable car was originally only approved for a few years, as it is located in the area of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Upper Middle Rhine Valley”. After intensive discussions and redesign plans, its operation has now been permanently approved.
The ride offers a breathtaking view of the Deutsches Eck, the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle, as well as the historic old town. Combined tickets also allow you to visit Ehrenbreitstein Fortress – a cultural highlight with museums, events and panorama platforms
Everything perfectly organized by the members of the Nicko Cruise on the Rhein Mrelodie.
