China is expected to show its prowess as the world’s largest tourism market once again during the Golden Week National Day holiday which falls on the 1st to 8th October 2017. According to NASDAQ listed travel agency, Ctrip.com International, 6 million Chinese will cross the country’s borders and explore foreign lands during this 8-day holiday period.
In contrast to the top tourist destinations in 2016, countries such as Kenya, Morocco, New Zealand and Peru have all become new attractions drawing successive waves of tourist traffic from China.

The Chinese travellers have diversified their holiday activities and are no longer contented with just sightseeing and shopping tours. Top experiential holiday packages now include adventure activities not limited to diving, trekking, skiing, safaris as well as medical tourism and other customised tour packages.

China will continue to outdo itself year after year. The UNWTO has predicted that 200 million Chinese will travel out of the country by 2020, spending US$422 billion.
