Bulgari Hotels expands to China
2017 the luxury hotel brand by Marriott plans to open a boutique hotel with 120 rooms in the embassy district in Beijing. A year earlier, a Bulgari Hotel in Shanghai will be inaugurated.

Rosewood plans new luxury hotels in China
The exclusive hotel group Rosewood wants to establish itself in China – a 283-room property recently opening in Beijing. Two further resorts with gardens and exceptional designs of the hotel sites are planned in Chongqing (2015) and in Sanya (2017).

Tourism and hotel boom in Indonesia intensifies
Indonesia is the hot spot for tourism investors. The government is planning more than 560 new tourism centers in 19 provinces. Mandarin Oriental will invest in a luxury resort in Bali – with 24 guest rooms and 97 villas, each with its own pool. The plan further comprises an obligatory spa – with a 100-meter pool and an exclusive hot-cold water therapy. Opening will be in 2016. Close to the airport of Bali a budget hotel by the IHG brand Holiday Inn Express arises with 115 rooms; it will be the sixth property by the brand in this region.

India remains strong and stable for new hotels
The demand for hotel rooms in India is rising steadily and the number of new hotel rooms will increase by only one digit in the next years. This market data and the stable political and economic situation predestine India’s hotel market for more, well-prepared investment. Lemon Tree Hotels (26 hotels in 15 Indian cities) prepares new properties in Andheri (300 rooms) and at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (opening 2018). Around seven further hotel projects are in the pipeline.

Billion investment in South Korea
In Jeju in South Korea a large casino for about 2.2 billion US dollars is arising. Gentin, casino operator from Singapore, and the Chinese project developer Landing are planning a gambling center on a 2.3 million square feet area – for gambling tourists from China and Japan. Model is the fabulous success of the gambling capital Macau. For native Koreans gambling is banned, but foreign tourists have an exclusively exception.

Hotel chains set new Asian locations
Raffles is a jewel in the Golden Triangle: In Jakarta, a new luxury hotel will be opened (173 rooms) in February. PanPacific Hotels is preparing new openings in Chengu/China (2017) and in Melbourne/Australia (2016). Belmond (former Orient Express Hotels) is planning new hotel locations in Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong. The low-budget hotel cabin concept of Yotel will be established in Singapore with two new properties, opening in mid-2016.

New theme parks to ensure tourism
Fantastic holiday and theme parks promise two theme park plans: In Malaysia, a 20th Centry Fox Cinema Park will arise instead of an ageing recreation ground. Among other a “First World” hotel with more than 1,200 rooms is in the pipeline. Opening will be in 2016. In Agra in the Indian state Urttar Pradesh a Disneyland with replicas of historical sites is under construction – opening is next year.
