The Summer Olympic Games in 2024 could take place in Germany – Berlin and Hamburg are applying as host-cities, the two cities with the most hotel construction projects in the country. In Berlin there are currently 32 new hotels under construction, in Hamburg 20 hotel construction projects. In total, 422 new hotels are in the pipeline in Germany. This data was announced by TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider of b2b hotel data.
The tourism in Germany is growing further. In the first eight months of the year, the number of overnight stays increased by three percent. Hamburg recorded with ten percent more overnight stays a huge tourism grew in the past year; this year’s expectations are promising. In the capital Berlin another tourism boost is expected during this year: On the 9th November the fall of the Berlin Wall has its 25th anniversary – many international visitors are expected at the hotels.
