Trade fair-combination for tourism in Central America, MITM Americas and Cultourfair: In the Mexican Guadadalajara the 19th MITM Americas and the 5th Cultourfair were officially opened on October 2, 2013. Exhibitors and visitors from 39 countries meet in the largest ground-level conference center in Central America to generate more than 2,800 business appointments in two days. During the show revenues of more than $57 million are expected in the long term according to the organizers.
The mood at the show is relaxed. Exhibitors and buyers are confident with the results of the exhibition and even hope for a growth in visitor numbers from the primary source markets Brazil, Canada, USA and other source markets of Russia and Asia. Both fairs are considered to be important for the tourism industry in Central America. Large tour operators from Europe have sent their buyers.

The fairs were held once a year in a different destination in Central America and are crucial to the mood in the region after Hurricane “Ingrid” and the tropical storm “Manuel”, which hit the east coast of the country in September and destroyed large parts of the touristic infrastructure.
The Guadadalajara Convention Center is located in the heart of Mexico in the state of Jalisco. This region is particularly proud of its unique traditions and distinctive cultural sites in the typical Mexican environment.
