2013 is a year of celebration as company marks 40th anniversary with the upcoming opening of its first hotel in China and the signing of its 8th property in Thailand. Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has embarked on a journey to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year with the signing of two new hotels in China and Thailand. The upscale hotel company of Swiss heritage is to open a new beach resort in Hua Hin, Thailand, and a 250-rooom hotel in Enshi City, China.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) took part in two large annual travel trade fairs in Europe – FITUR 2013 and Holiday Fair. FITUR 2013 was held in Madrid, Spain during 30 January – 3 February, 2013, while the Holiday Fair was set in Brussels, Belgium during 2-5 February, 2013. There were 200-300 trade exhibitors from 150 countries taking part in the events and each event welcomed approximately 100,000 consumers.

Positive operating result (EBIT) of EUR 70.2 million – an improvement of more than EUR 300 million over the previous year. Net profit of EUR 6.8 million. Group revenue of EUR 4.31 billion, capacity utilization increased from 78.21. to 79.80 per cent, Yield improved by 7.7 per cent to EUR 120.05. “Shape & Size” efficiency program contributed EUR 250 million to income.Strategic partnership with Etihad Airways, delivered EUR 50 million in additional revenues, with synergies and cost savings starting to take effect. Retroactive value adjustment of deferred tax assets reduces net results in fiscal year 2011 to EUR -420.4 million (previously EUR -271.8 million)

2012 – A GROUND-BREAKING YEAR FOR THE KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE
2012 saw the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) host 1,442 events; the highest number recorded since opening in mid-2005, a 7% increase from the 1,346 held the previous year, and served over 1.6 million delegates and visitors. In turn, this resulted in an economic impact contribution RM590 million.

Over 150,000 visitors and counting since opening
Two highly successful exhibitions at The Venetian® Macao-Resort-Hotel are extending their runs until March 31, 2013 – Titanic The Exhibition and The Human Bodies Exhibition. Both exhibitions – originally scheduled to end on February 24, 2013 – have been very popular since opening on October 25, 2012, with over 150,000 visitors to date.
