Seoul has won the bid to host the 2018 International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) Congress, a major triennial gathering of the world’s scientific community. The Korean capital was declared the host venue for the high-profile event by the IUBMB board of directors on September 4th in Seville, Spain.

Turkey is the preferred holiday destination of Russian holidaymakers, although when it comes to how often they visit the country this source market still has enormous growth potential. In 2011, only 14 per cent of the 3.4 million holiday trips undertaken by Russians to Turkey represented a fourth-time visit or more, whereas the proportion of first-time visitors was 48 per cent.

On 1st January 2013 Álvaro Middelmann will retire from his position as Senior Vice President Spain & Portugal at airberlin. Middelmann will, however, retain links to airberlin as an advisor to the Board of Directors.
