Hong Kong’s only international travel expo, ITE & MICE, which this year will be held from June 14 to 17 at halls 1A to 1E of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, will feature over 600 exhibitors from some 50 countries and regions around the world.
Noted for its highly international profile with some 80% of exhibitors of ITE & MICE come from outside Hong Kong Coupled with its practical seminars, the Travel Expo offers regional buyers and trade visitors an effective platform for networking, sourcing of ideas, products and suppliers, and conducting businesses.

Repeating exhibitors like Japan, Brazil, Moscow, and Tunisia will expand their scale of participations in the Travel Expo this year, new official stands and pavilions this year come from Angola, Azerbaijan and Zagreb, capital of Croatia. While themes like Cruise and Wellness will continue being highlighted, new theme launched this year is Honeymooning and Overseas Wedding

Held in collaboration with regional trade associations are the “Asian Outbound Seminar” with speakers from Singapore, India and Malaysia, and “Cruise Training Seminar” by the Asia Cruise Association. The second trade day will again be designated as MICE / Corporate Travel Day with a series of related seminars.

Highlight new theme of Honeymooning & Overseas Wedding (HOW)
ITE & MICE, which already has significant number of related international destinations as exhibitors, will highlight the new theme of “Honeymooning & Overseas Wedding (HOW)” in its coming edition in 2012. A move to help exhibitor better tap into this fast growing market in Hong Kong!

Buyer and Sellers sign contracts


The “HOW” theme will be highlighted in general advertisements and publicities for visitor promotion. There will also be additional promotion i.e. holding seminars during the public days, setting up a “HOW” info stand inside the exhibition halls with display of, say, lists of related exhibitors, seminars, and special offers available etc. Around 53,000 Hong Kong couples will marry this year and each will spend an average of HK$34,000 (US$4360) on honeymooning.

SOHU and ITE & MICE join forces to launch online QUIZ to promote international tourism
An online Quiz on “World Destination’s Landmark” will be held from April to May this year in SOHU Travel, where participants from different parts of mainland China are shown and be randomly asked to identify landmark of some 60 international destinations drawn mostly from those exhibited / exhibiting in ITE & MICE.

Participation to the online Quiz is free. Those who got all their answers right will be eligible for lucky draw with grand prizes of free trip to visiting Hong Kong and ITE & MICE 2012. Winners will be announced at the end of May this year at SOHU Travel.

Besides the online Quiz, SOHU Travel as Supporting Media for ITE & MICE, will also launch in April a mini-site for ITE & MICE, and send journalists to attend and report on the travel expo in Hong Kong. SOHU Travel is a leading portal in China, with daily 32 million hits and 3.1 million unique visitors.
