Check-In Counters and Luggage Loading Services for Direct Express Line Trips
The Suvarnabhumi Airport Link, a direct rail service to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport, operates daily from 06.00 – 24.00. The 28-km airport rail link connects Suvarnabhumi Airport in Samut Prakan province east of Bangkok and the Bangkok City Air Terminal (BCAT) in Makkasan district. Following the commencement of commercial operations on August 23 2010, the Suvarnabhumi Airport Link now provides check-in and luggage transfer services at the BCAT Makkasan Station. These services are available exclusively for the Suvarnabhumi Airport Express Line trips.
Passengers will be able to check in at BCAT 3-12 hours prior to their scheduled flight. The check-in service at BCAT is available for passengers on all flights. The luggage loading services, however, are only available for Thai Airways International and Bangkok Airways flights. The baggage check-in system was developed by State Railway of Thailand (SRT) and Airports of Thailand (AoT) for Makkasan Station.
The Airport Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport provides two transit options — the Express Line and the City Line. Services on both the Express Line and the City Line are operated on the same tracks at the speed of up to 160km per hour. Both lines pass through an interchange at Makkasan to access the Bangkok MRT subway network at Phetchaburi Station
Automatic Ticket Dispensers have been installed at all Airport Rail Link stations. The number of units available varies depending on the size of the station. When purchasing pre-paid Smart Passes or single trip tokens from the Automatic Ticket Dispensers, select the destination and the number of tokens required. The machine will automatically calculate the fare and dispense change. Please note that a receipt will only be printed by request.
In addition to the single trip tokens, passengers can also purchase pre-paid passes from the Automatic Ticket Dispensers. When passengers touch the reader with the pass, the reader displays the ticket balance, the station(s) the passenger has travelled from, and the number of times the pass has been refilled. The minimum pre-paid value is 20 baht and the maximum is 3,000 baht.
The Airport Rail Link project is owned and operated by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT).
