For the second year in a row, the Caravelle Hotel has been hailed as the “Business Hotel of the Year” in the Tourism Alliance Awards. IIR Exhibitions, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organize the now annual awards program. The winners were announced Sept. 30 at the International Travel Exhibition in HCMC.
“HCMC is one of the fastest-growing cities in the developing world, which means that hotels here have an overarching responsibility to cultivate innovative services and best practices for business travelers,” said John Gardner, General Manager of the Caravelle. “Over the past couple of years, we’ve been making tremendous strides in services for travelers, and this award is a validation of that effort.”
The Caravelle recently made headlines with its enhanced, hotel-wide Wi-Fi environment. From the hotel’s cars, to its rooms, restaurants and pool-deck, the hotel’s high-speed Wi-Fi network is now free, robust and capable of connecting 1,000 users to the Internet simultaneously.
The 2010 Tourism Alliance Awards selected winners from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in a range of categories, including best airline, spa operator, resort hotel and luxury hotel. The ministries of tourism in Cambodia and Laos also support the annual awards effort.
