The Latvian Tourism Development Agency (TAVA) invites all those who are interested to participate in a tourism competition, where persons will be able to get acquainted with various tourist objects in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as win prizes. Great Baltic Travel 2010 is a campaign for adventure in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Travel lovers are invited to discover unique sightseeing, historical buildings, architectural beauties, adventure and water parks, museums and areas of outstanding natural beauty in the Baltic countries. The campaign offers 30 exciting and unforgettable places to visit – 10 in each country.
This year’s Great Baltic Travel is being organized for the fourth time, and will take place from May1 to September 30. The aim of the Great Baltic Travel is to promote tourism in the Baltic States, and is a great way to experience undiscovered destinations and sights throughout the three countries. The ten Great Baltic Travel sights and destinations in Latvia include Vienkocu Park (Vidzeme Province), Godesverdera-Livonian Settlement (Vidzeme Province), wild horses and Pape Nature Park (Kurzeme Province), river ship ‘New Way’ (Riga-Jurmala), Viking Boat ‘Lacplesis’ (Vidzeme Province), the Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Center – Radio Telescope ‘Irbene Locater’ (Kurzeme Province), Ventspils Aquapark Complex (Kurzeme Province), King Hill (Latgale Province), Riga Aviation Museum (Riga) and the S.Eizenstein communication station ‘Keipene’ (Vidzeme Province).
The Great Baltic Travel campaign is being organized in close cooperation between the Latvian Tourism Development Agency, the Lithuanian Economy Ministry’s Tourism Department, and the Estonian Tourism Council.
