Spain International Exhibition Office announced a new gastronomic project with Michelin chefs to showcase the Spanish food & drink culture during Shanghai EXPO.
Food & drink is the resource of the culture fusion. There will be 217 countries to attend the Shanghai World EXPO and there is no better chance to exhibit the rich Spanish food and its products in this world class event. During the 6 months EXPO period, the Spanish pavilion will launch its daily menu to the public on a weekly basis featuring one Spanish chef. In total, there will be 38 Michelin star chefs coming from 15 different countries to join this event. 17 different menus will be presented to the guests by using the freshest and most authentic ingredients from Spain. 48 Michelin stars will be gathered together in this gastronomic celebration.
The chef’s team will be staying at the brand new Gran Melia Shanghai and personally cook in the hotel’s restaurants for the guests. The cooking show in Gran Melia Shanghai Hotel will be featuring Chef Juan Mari Arzak (3* Michelin), Martin Berasategui (3* Michelin), Pedro Subijana (3* Michelin), Andoni Aduriz (2* Michelin), and Pepe Solla (1* Michelin), Paco Roncero (2* Michelin) from Madrid, Dani Garcia (1* Michelin) from Andalusia, Pedro Larumbe, Elena Arzak (3* Michelin), just to name a few. And chefs from China: Chef Dong Zhengxiang from Dadong roasted duck restaurant in Beijing, Chef Michelle from Ritz Hotel in Paris and VIPs from MOMA in the U.S.
