Gerhard Kirsch invited 400 to Tourismus Dialog’s Summer Festival at the house of representatives of German federal state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Federal state Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania had again provided a venue for the second Tourismus Dialog Summer Festival with its state representation in Berlin Mitte. Some 250 journalists representing local, interregional and international media, including print, radio, television and agencies, met with high-profile individuals from tourism, hotel industry and gastronomy from all over the nation, as well as domestic and foreign representatives from politics, economy, sciences, culture, society and diplomacy.

Assisted by numerous sponsors, the team around Gerhard Kirsch, Henri Schröder (Diedersdorf Castle) and Joachim Fischer (www.Tourism-Insider.com) arranged for a relaxed evening of networking. A humorous opening speech by Ernst Hinsken, federal commissioner for tourism, was followed by a performance of ladies’ band “Salome” that had the place swinging.

Ulrich Bülow, head of the Berlin studios of German television channel ZDF, led the guests through the multifaceted stage program, casually providing news throughout various discussions. The tourist board of partner country Malaysia demonstrated to the guests that its country is one worth traveling to. In a raffle towards the end of the event, the visitors were able to win a helicopter tour of Berlin, as well as hotel stays at Iberotels.

The main prizes, meanwhile, were a one-week stay in a suite at Sutera Harbour Resort in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, as well as 5 weekends in a Suite at Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park in Shanghai, China.
