93 percent wish for individual services – 2008: revenues of nearly 64 billion euros in privately financed health market
According to a recent survey on the health market by Roland Berger Strategy Consultants (2008), 93 percent of 1,000 respondents wished for individual services. This is proven by the growth in the privately financed health market, which generated an estimated 64 billion euros of revenues in Germany in 2008. „Despite the financial crisis, health and well-being will continue to gain importance in people’s lives. People have come to realize that health and permanence are the most valuable assets and will be more willing to spend money on them in the future“, said Claudia Wagner, Director of FIT REISEN.
The organizer for healthy travel will be focusing more on individualized and customized spa programs in 2009, expanding its portfolio with wholistic offers in the fields of exercise, diet, relaxation and permanence. Focal points will be strategies on the enhancement of people’s individual quality of life. Changing dietary habits, reducing weight, keeping up a regular exercise program or quitting smoking does not only mean physical and mental exertion, but requires a well-planned approach. In light of this, the organizer of special trips, based in Frankfurt, expanded its arrangements with personal trainers, health coaches and medical consultations. In combination with so-called „à la carte“ offers, these are meant to activate a new body awareness and point to new ways of behavior. Guests will be able to chose the appropriate offer from a menu of exercises.
