Malaysia has had an exceptionally good tourism year 2008 and again presented itself with an especially colorful performance at this year’s travel trade fair ITB in Berlin from March 11 to 15. At stand 127 in Asia hall 26a, visitors could learn about the holiday country of Malaysia in front of an impressive replica of a long house of the Bornean Orang Ulu tribe. Tourism Malaysia and its 55 partners answered inquiries and handed out information material to interested travelers.
This year, again, visitors to the Malaysia stand were given the opportunity to take a break from the stressful ITB routine and look forward to one of the performances typical of the country. A master of Teh Tarik, for example, performed his acrobatic skills in the preparation of the popular local beverage Teh Tarik, which loosely translates to „pulled tea“. Visitors could also show their own skills in order to win a surprise present from Malaysia.
Parallel to the ITB, the stand from Malaysia won the coveted CBS award for the most beautiful stand, which was as stunning to the eye as the gorgeous performance of „Colours of Malaysia“ that took place at ITB on Thursday.
Prior to this show, we had an exclusive talk with Mister Dato Amiruddin Abu, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, on the fair grounds. You will also get to see pictures of the colorful evening performance.
