The Go Asia Award gala was a big success. More than 300 representatives of Asian tourist boards, destinations, hotels and tour operators, as well as various personalities from politics and media attended the grand award ceremony at Viethaus in Berlin. Go Asia member Thailand won the Go Asia Award in the categories of „Best Destination“ and „Best Tourist Board in Germany“. The second place in the „Best Destination“ category was held by Indonesia, closely followed by Malaysia. The second place in the „Best Tourist Board in Germany“ category was something to show for, too, with Singapore being the one to claim it. The third place went to the Hong Kong Tourism Board.

Singapore Airlines was voted best Asian airline by 3,265 of the total of 3,600 users who cast their votes on the Go Asia website. Thai Airways made it to second place with 2,911 votes, being very closely followed by Emirates. A special award was given to Bangkok Airways, who managed to claim 1,303 votes, which the organizers believed was a remarkable success, considering the voting results of the large airlines.
