On March 2, 2009, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, the leading luxury hotel group in the Asia-Pacific region, will open their first hotel in Japan. Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo comprises 202 rooms in the upper-most eleven floors of the 37-story building of Marunouchi Trust Tower Main. Is is located adjacent to Tokyo Station, the only station with connections to all parts of the country. The famous shopping district of Ginza and the imperial palace and its gardens are within walking distance, as are the newly developed business and banking district of Marunouchi and Nihonbashi, Tokyo’s historic and cultural center.

The hotel, managed by General Manager Wolfgang Krueger, offers two restaurants in addition to the lobby lounge: the typical Italian Piacere and the Nadaman, serving authentic Japanese Kaiseki cuisine. The new hotel also marks the Japan premiere of The Spa at Shangri-La, featuring ancient Chinese cures and therapies from the Himalayas. With its six treatment rooms, the spa offers the largest spa suites in Tokyo.
