Its portfolio in the capital thus grew by two additional hotels, for a total of nine properties in Berlin. There will be a new hotel in Düsseldorf, as well. This means that the fast-growing hotel management company, based in Berlin, now comprises a total of 56 hotels. Further investments in the expansion of the hotel portfolio are to follow soon.
The ownership and management of The Ramada Hotel Globus Berlin was transferred to GCHR on January 1, 2009. The three-star hotel joins GCHR’s „Standard Collection“ category. The hotel keeps its name, and all employees are transferred over. The hotel is conveniently located near Frankfurter Allee in the eastern part of Berlin and comprises 241 comfortably furnished rooms, as well as parking slots for cars and buses, directly at the property and free of charge. For conference guests, the hotel offers capacities for 150 persons. Relaxation is provided through a sauna, a solarium, a hotel bar and the summer garden.
The Bärlin hotel near Berlin-Tegel airport was integrated into GCHR’s „Budget Collection“ hotel category with the turn of the year. The property is located at the famous Kurt-Schuhmacher-Platz in the Berlin district of Reinickendorf and serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the capital. The 28 rooms of the pleasant hotel are comfortably furnished and have their own personal flair. The conference room offers plenty of daylight, is air-conditioned and can accommodate 40 persons. All of the hotel’s employees were taken over by Grand City.
The Börsenhotel Düsseldorf was taken over by GCHR in the second week of January, 2009. The modern three-star hotel will be transferred to the standard collection of GCHR’s signature brand and will be operating under the name of „Grand City Börsenhotel Düsseldorf“. Situated right in downtown Düsseldorf and in close vicinity of the central railway station, the Japanese quarter, Königsallee and the old town of Düsseldorf, the hotel is the ideal starting point for travelers on city trips, visitors of trade fairs and business travelers.
