Finnair is expanding its flight plan by a new destination: Starting from March 3, the Finnish airline will fly from Helsinki to Istanbul twice a week at first, with flights being extended to four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting from March 30.

„With Istanbul, we are covering another important travel destination“, explains Kimmo Rautiainen, Sales Director Germany and adds: „With the flights between Helsinki and Istanbul, we are continuing the expansion of our Europe-Asia strategy“. The Atatürk Airport in Istanbul is the 46th destination airport for flights by Finnair.

Istanbul is the largest city of Turkey and has developed into one of the world’s most prominent trend cities over the last years. Fantastic beaches, blooming plantations and mountain ranges with mountains over 5,000 meters high make the country one of Germans’ most popular holiday destinations. Places such as the limestone terraces of Pamukkale, the fantastic tuff scenery of Kappadokien and the mighty Mount Ararat, where Noah’s Ark supposedly landed, are among the most beautiful in the world.

Finnair is using the Airbus 319, as well as the Embraer 190 for the flight route to Istanbul. The time of flight from Helsinki is around three hours.
