Tophotelprojects.com: Nearly 500 new top hotels world wide are close to opening
The first-class and luxury hotel industry continues to grow rapidly. World wide, nearly 500 new top hotels with around 199,000 rooms will be opened over the next months. 28 percent of openings take place in Europe, 27 percent in North America and 41 percent in East Asia. This is shown by research conducted by tophotelprojects.com, the leading international database for hotel projects. 32 hotel projects have more than 500 rooms (mainly in Asia).
The largest hotel to soon welcome its first guests is the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore (www.marinabaysands.com) with 2,600 rooms. The large-scale project of Las Vegas Sands Corp. will be completed in the course of the next year.
Among the hotel projects in Germany scheduled to open in the next months, are:

170 new hotel projects
Over the course of the past four weeks, the project database tophotelprojects.com recorded over 170 new hotel constructions with over 36,000 rooms world wide, a fourth of which will be realized in Europe, including the Scandic Hotel Hamburg (325 rooms, opening 2011) and the Welcome Hotel Frankfurt/Main (173 rooms, opening 2010).
„We are observing the new and ongoing hotel projects very closely and are only recording sporadic cancellations of projects, so far“, as Rolf W. Schmidt, managing partner of CHD Expert / Marktplatz Hotel GmbH (publisher of tophotelprojects.com) explains the market development. To date, there were project cancellations with renovations and delays with new construction projects. Overall, the growth in hotel projects showed no major setback.
