Emirates Expands Vegan Cuisine for Global Travelers – As the demand for vegan meals grows worldwide, Emirates has been expanding its vegan menu, offering a variety of plant-based dishes. Many passengers, including non-vegan customers, are opting for vegan options as lighter, easier-to-digest meals during flights. Emirates is continuously innovating by introducing new dishes, such as a solid egg substitute made from legumes, and has added vegan options for children.
Emirates’ Commitment to Vegan Meals
In celebration of Veganuary, Emirates chefs came together at the Emirates Flight Catering Concept Development Kitchen to experiment with new ingredients. They created dishes like spicy shakshuka with a solid egg substitute and savory vegan cannelloni. Emirates now offers over 300 vegan recipes on flights to 140 destinations. Their plant-based ingredients come from around the world, including Beyond Meat, Arlene, Qian Ye, Meister Marken, and Bustanica, a sustainable farm producing pesticide-free greens.
Recently, Emirates introduced individual servings of vegan milk on flights, with over 30,000 customers choosing this option monthly for their coffee and tea.
Vegan Meals for Kids
Emirates has also introduced vegan meals for children, including pizza, vegetable casseroles, fajitas, vegan muffins, cauliflower bites, and desserts like strawberry crumble and chocolate pudding.
How to Order Vegan Meals
Vegan meals are available to order or pre-order on Emirates flights and in their lounges up to 24 hours before departure. On high-demand routes, plant-based meals are included in the main menu options.
