The third edition of Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2016 held at Xi’an Qujiang International Conference and Exhibition Center had concluded with several new milestones.More than 600 international and local exhibitors participated in the show, spanning over 28,000 square metres. The tourism organisations of various provinces and cities occupied Hall B3, while the international and consumer exhibitors occupied Hall B4. The hot spring section debuted by occupying Hall A.
In total, 42 countries and 26 local provinces were represented at the show – the highest international representation since the exhibition’s inauguration in 2014.

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) today took delivery of its first Airbus A350XWB aircraft, at the ceremony at Airbus Delivery Centre.
The delivery flight TG8948 departs Toulouse, France directly to Bangkok, Thailand on 30 August and will arrive on 31 August 2016.THAI has 12 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft on order, with four on purchase orders and eight on lease. THAI’s first A350-900, a mid-size, long-range commercial aircraft, will operate its first intercontinental route to Melbourne, Australia in mid-September.

Etihad Airways has marked Emirati Women’s Day by announcing that more than half the UAE nationals employed by the airline are women, including nearly 50 pilots. Aisha Al Mansoori recalls being mesmorised by the aerial activity at Al Ain Air Show in 2007. Nowadays, she is one of those pilots, flying the largest passenger jet in the world. “I fell in love with aviation during the 2007 Al Ain Air Show and joined Etihad the following year as a cadet. After qualifying, I started as a Second Officer on the Airbus A320 and now I’m a First Officer on the A380. I hope to become Captain so I can train other aviators,” said Aisha Al Mansoori.

Xi’an Silk Road International Tourism Expo 2016 kicked off with a grand opening ceremony today. The three-day tourism exhibition will be held at Qujiang International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Xi’an from 26 to 28 August 2016. Among the audience were Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Wang Lixia, Secretary of State for Tourism and Deputy Minister Pak Sokhom, Deputy Director of China National Tourism Administration Du Jiang, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau Paddy Withana, Director of Mauritanie National Office of Tourism Mohamed Mahmoud, Assistant Deputy Director of the Ministry of Tourism, Republic of Indonesia Adila Chaerman.
