Deutsche Hospitality is going to expand its presence in Egypt by adding a new hotel in Damietta to its portfolio until 2018. The Steigenberger Hotel El Lessan Ras El-Bar will be located at the waterfront of a peninsula formed by the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and the banks of the Damietta Nile Branch. The eye-catching Ras El Bar Lighthouse is only 300 metres away and connected with the hotel by a pier.The hotel consists of 158 rooms and suites, two restaurants with different cuisines and a roof terrace. Its facilities include a swimming pool alongside with a kids pool, a health Spa & Gym as well as two banquet halls.

Close to Damietta Train Station (15 kilometres), Damietta Port (27 kilometres) and Port Said Airport (70 kilometres) the hotel will serve both business travellers and holiday guests. Damietta Port is one of the most active and important trading points for export and import in Egypt as well Damietta is a core market in Egypt for the furniture industry. To the Southeast, Port Said and the Suez Canal are less than 70 kilometres away. To the Southwest of the city, there are the wonderful gardens and wide-spread orchards of the Delta of Egypt. Damietta is featured as one of the few cities in Egypt with long shores overlooking the River Nile and Mediterranean Sea as well.
Deutsche Hospitality operates the hotel under Management Agreement. The hotel is owned by the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels (HOTAC), who is also the contract partner for the Steigenberger El Tahrir Hotel in Cairo.
