It is a historical moment for fuarizmir – the biggest and one of the biggest exposition center of Turkey and Europe respectively. The giant center hosts two fairs and one big congress at the same time. Travel Turkey İzmir – 10th Tourism Fair and Congress, 2nd International Gastronomic Congress and IBATECH İzmir – 10th International Trade Fair for Bakery, Patisserie Machinery, Ice Cream, Chocolate and Technologies open concurrently. A total of 1179 exhibitors from 36 different countries and 60 counties attended Travel Turkey İzmir – 10th Tourism Fair and Congress this year; in which 1008 exhibitors from 31 different countries attended last year. Afghanistan, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bulgaria, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece India, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Macedonia, Namibia, Pakistan, Palestine, Poland, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan , S. Arabia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Ukraine, USA and Zimbabwe are the exhibitors. 2017 official launch of “Early Reservation Campaign” led by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism was held in fuarizmir.

Special Section for Health
“Special Health Tourism Section” took its part in the exposition center for the first time to support health tourism as it starts to get importance as an alternative tourism branch. Buyers coming from Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, France, Ghana, Greece Guinea, India, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman Pakistan, Republic of South Sudan, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Somalia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan will make mutual meeting during the fair in an area that Turkish health opportunities will be introduced. It is aimed that important agreements will be made at the end of these mutual meetings – made within the scope of “B2B Hosted Buyer Program” – between representatives of health and tourism sectors.
Private, foundation and university hospitals, travel agencies of health tourism, eye hospitals, dental health and esthetics centers, hair transplantation clinics and centers, test tube baby hospitals and centers, thermal hotels and facilities, insurance companies, assistance companies, weight loss and diet clinics are among the exhibitors of “Health Tourism” section of Travel Turkey İzmir.

DELICIOUS CONGRESS
International Gastronomic Congress being held for the 2nd time brings important names of gastronomic world to İzmir.
2nd International Gastronomic Congress hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, under the collaboration of İzmir University of Economics and started with the contribution of Reseau Délice Network of the Gourmet Cities of the World and İzmir Cooks Association, brought tastes to İzmir. The congress held between the dates of December 8-11 brought world’s leading gastronomic and tourism experts and lecturers together in fairizmir.
Steps that can be taken for gastronomy proceeding on the way of being an alternative tourism branch are discussed by specialists during the congress. It is aimed that awareness that will be raised in Turkey with studies, will affect tourism positively.

Not only Panels but also Shows…
2nd International Gastronomic Congress organizes academic studies concurrently with panels in which presentations of private sector will be made. Relation between Aegean culture and gastronomy and the effect it has on regional tourism development are discussed in panels in which important sectoral representatives and national and international speakers make speeches. Famous chefs such as Tolga Kamiloğlu, Rudolf Van Nunen and Semen Öner along with İzmir Cooks Association make special shows and presentations during the congress.
