Infinity or lagoon – pools of new top hotels need to be increasingly bigger and more and more spectacular. Real top hotels impress with stunning water landscapes: The world renowned Marina Bay Sands in Singapore holds the world record for the size of its roof top infinity pool, which is 143 metres long and offers spectacular views from floor number 55 nowadays. Other hotels want to impress with extraordinary swimming pools as well. Casino-king Steve Wynn from Las Vegas plans on flooding an entire lagoon for water sports – in the middle of the desert! Those, who want more pool than hotel, should work together with Crystal Lagoon. The company plans and builds huge water landscapes, which they demonstrated once more with their hotel project Wynn Paradise Park. However, the world’s biggest outdoor pool was built at the San Alfonso del Mar Resort in Chile. It is located directly at the sea and comprises 20 Olympic-sized pools (a total of around 75 million litres of water). It opened in 2006 after five years of construction.
One of the outdoor pool highlights is still the Mardane Palace in Antalya at the Turkish Riviera. With the size of 16,000 square meters, its outdoor pool landscape ranks among the largest worldwide. Guests can swim and snorkel under professional supervision in an artificially created lagoon, together with 1,500 different species of fish. Around the large pool, guests can even enjoy romantic gondola rides on artificial waterways. And in the heart of the pool, there is a gigantic Aquarium with over 5,000 fishes.
