Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) launched its inaugural publications ,the Destination Experience Brochure and the Penang MICE Guide 2016-17, a mere three months after the Bureau’s establishment.The two publications, which were produced entirely in-house by the PCEB team, is part of PCEB’s exercise to position and promote Penang as the preferred MICE destination in the region.
The Destination Experience Brochure showcases Penang’s rich culture, heritage, colonial, nature and artistic aspects while highlighting the diverse conventional and unique venues for business and leisure events. Designed as coffee table book, the Destination Experience Brochure perfectly brings to life the “Experiences Unfiltered” brand campaign the PCEB will be launching in the coming months.

“We have strategically curated the best of Penang’s venues, experiences and activities to weave the Penang MICE story,” said PCEB CEO, Ashwin Gunasekeran.

Complementing the Destination Experience Brochure is the Penang MICE Guide 2016-17, which features over 50 venues from all over Penang, ranging from luxurious hotels and grand convention centres to distinctive venues that capture the contemporary cosmopolitan and cultural heritage aspects of Penang. It is a comprehensive venue listing with the capacity and facilities of each venue highlighted.

Launching the books was The Right Honourable Tuan Lim Guan Eng, Chief Minister of Penang and Chairperson of PCEB.
“PCEB has done a commendable job in bringing together the various venues that are available in Penang – both island and mainland – to publish the most comprehensive venue guide on Penang to date. This is just the first step in PCEB’s work towards centralising and intensifying efforts to bring in more quality events and conventions to Penang,” he said.

“The two publications serve as useful resources that will benefit the MICE industry partners and event organisers globally, thus driving Penang as the preferred MICE destination. With its high production quality, I believe these two publications will garner the attention of MICE buyers, associations and meeting & events planners worldwide and position Penang as the preferred MICE destination in this region,” he added.
