ICCA and Malaysia, Local Host of ICCA Congress 2016, are calling all ICCA members to help generate awareness and participate in a highly distinguished initiative – the Borneo Orang-Utan Project (BOP), the official ICCA Congress 2016 corporate social responsibility programme. As part of the #RoadtoSarawak campaign to the 2016 ICCA Congress in the city of Kuching in Sarawak, Malaysia, all ICCA members are exclusively invited to engage in an opportunity of a lifetime to adopt the precious baby boy orang-utan named Anaku for a year.
This bashful little boy has a knack for hiding in the surrounding trees. When feeding time approaches, he can be seen descending down to the platform alone. Despite his somewhat reserved nature, it is remarkable to know that this baby orang-utan will one day grow into a dominant male with full distinctive cheek pads.
Currently, Anaku is being cared for at the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre, approximately 24km from Kuching, Borneo. The centre, which is located by a nature reserve, is also a research centre for orang-utans and has successfully rehabilitated and reintroduced many of these primates back to the forest.
Visit us at the Malaysia Booth 2714 to snap a photo with “Brooke” – the official ICCA 2016 mascot and share it on social media with the hashtag “#RoadtoSarawak” “#AIMEmelbourne” and “#ICCAWorld”.
The announcement of the winner will be made by ICCA in the week after AIME. ICCA will adopt Anaku on behalf a chosen member upon the announcement.
