Turkish Airlines Extends “Turkish Airlines Open” Sponsorship for three more years.
The prestigious golf tournamet is organized third time this year sponsored by Turkish Airlines. 78 golf players contest for 7 million dollar prize in the tournament since the year of 2012 in Belek of Antalya city.
In addition, Turkish Airlines announces the tournament’s title sponsorship has been extended for three more years. With the high level interest gained for the event this year, the tournament has become quite renowned in the golf world. As the Europe Tour’s “Race to Dubai” leg kicks off, Rory McIlroy, who among those well-known players planning to secure their position participates in the tournament.
With first class courses rivalling the best in the world and golfing opportunities developing each year, Turkey is fast becoming the ‘Rising Star’ of golf destinations. The support of Turkish Airlines has been integral to this, encouraging development from the elite through to the grass roots of the game.
Today also sees the announcement that next year’s Turkish Airlines Open will be hosted by the Carya Golf Club, also situated on Turkey’s famous Golf Coast near Antalya.
Ahmet Agaoglu, President of the Turkish Golf Federation, said: “Turkish Airlines has been magnificent in their support of golf in Turkey. The difference it has made, especially in raising the profile of the Turkish Airlines Open, has been incredible to see. It is therefore fantastic they have agreed to sign up for a further three years – we cannot wait to grow the game in Turkey even further.”

Chief Operating Officer of the European Tour Keith Waters said: “The Turkish Airlines Open has quickly established itself as an integral part of the European Tour – especially as it kicks off the Final Series in the Race to Dubai. Turkish Airlines has been brilliant in their support of the event, and we are very much looking forward to working with them again in the coming years.”
Fikret Öztürk, President of Carya Golf Club, said: “It is incredibly exciting that this world renowned competition will be coming to Carya next year. I have seen how it has showcased and raised the profile of the Montgomerie Maxx Royal and hope that, with the continued support of Turkish Airlines, it can have a similar impact for our club.”

I’m delighted to be a part of anything that brings more people into golf, especially younger players.
