NH HOTEL GROUP APPOINTS STEPHAN DEMMERLE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR FOR CENTRAL EUROPE .Stephan Demmerle has been appointed Managing Director for Business Unit Central Europe at NH Hotel Group. In this position, he is responsible for close to 80 hotels in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania. Demmerle will oversee the implementation of all strategic initiatives that are part of the group’s five-year business plan in the Business Unit Central Europe.
Stephan Demmerle has held several managing positions in operations at NH Hotel Group already and is familiar with the challenges of his new duties. Besides improving the performance indicators and competitiveness of his business unit in all areas, he will also focus on further raising guest satisfaction.
Following prior appointments as General Manager and Regional Director for the region East, Stephan Demmerle was designated Director of Operations at NH Hotel Group in 2010, where he held operative revenue responsibility for all hotels that are part of the Business Unit Central Europe.
Born in Ludwigshafen, Germany, Stephan Demmerle began his career in the hospitality industry back in 1991 with a hotel business apprenticeship. In 1993, he joined Astron Hotels & Resort AG, where he held various positions including that of General Manager up until 2002, when the group was taken over by NH Hotel Group (formerly: NH Hoteles). At the age of 44, he can thus look back on 22 years of experience within the company, ten of which in leadership positions. His free time is dedicated to his family.
Stephan Demmerle succeeds Christian Körfgen, who left the company to take over new responsibilities.
