To support tourism it is proper for countries to cancel Visa fees and reduce traveling costs for foreign visitors. Many countries would act like that to increase the number of incoming tourists – China does not.
The whole world of Tourism was shocked by the announcement of the Chinese government, that China nearly doubled the costs for a Visa to more than 100€.
The costs for travelling to and within China are very expansive. Even most of the recommended hotels and restaurants are that expansive too.
In our way of understanding, this is not the way to support its national tourism industry. No doubt – there might be reasons to do that, but such decisions will weaken the whole national tourism. Tourists and business travelers will sooner or later swap to other Asian countries and will leave their money more likely in these destinations.
