With IMEX in Frankfurt just around the corner, demand continues to be extremely strong from both buyers and exhibitors to participate. IMEX America, too, continues to experience high demand – a reflection of the growing positive attitude in the meetings industry overall. While there has been growth from all around the world, Asia Pacific and Europe in particular will showcase several increased stands and new destinations. A wide range of exhibitors from North America have also booked more space, so too have several hotel groups and technology suppliers. Together they have increased their stands by an average of 24% putting this year’s Frankfurt show on schedule to at least match last year’s record breaking event.
Almost 4,000 hosted buyers will be arriving in Frankfurt from all over the world, with more than 34 new groups among them. We have made great efforts this year to further improve the IMEX hosted buyer experience and aim to provide all buyers with a high level of service and attention that is the hallmark of our programme. This includes our unique ‘Concierge Service’ along with improved lounge services.

Ray Bloom, Chairman IMEX Group:”I am delighted that one of the world’s foremost business leaders, Bill McDermott, CEO of SAP, the world’s largest business software company, will deliver the keynote speech at the opening ceremony. Having heard Bill speak about meetings and having read his book – Winners Dream, I believe that among corporate leaders there can surely be no greater and more passionate advocate of the value and effectiveness of meetings to drive business growth and profit.

Although business appointments are the essence of IMEX and 65,000 on-stand meetings are due to be scheduled, our exhibitions have also become synonymous with providing a wealth of inspiring new ideas and educational insights to help businesses and event organisers make the most of meetings. There are some really exciting additions to the Inspiration Hub this year, with wellbeing and health along with more business skills in the seminar programme tracks. There are now two specific options for Young Professionals and Senior Professionals – and altogether something for everyone.

I am also looking forward to this year’s IMEX Politicians Forum where the focus will be on how destinations can attract more events by marketing their skills and the knowledge economy, while on Monday, IMEX Association Day and Exclusively Corporate @IMEX will also bring together these groups to share insights and to network with their peers.
I look forward to welcoming you all to IMEX in May.”
