International film-print- and multimedia competition 2015! Become a part and send in your participation. An informative and engaging film creates long lasting advertisement for countries, destinations, hotels and the whole tourism industry. The prearrangements for the award ceremony of “The Golden City Gate” in the ITB CINEMA already started. The annually ceremony is held on Thursday during the World´s Leading Travel Trade Show ITB Berlin. In 2014 the film “Ali’s Movie” convinced the audience with a clear design, pure emotions and stunning pictures.
“Ali`s Movie” is a promotional film of Dubai´s upcoming world EXPO in 2020. The film impressed the 40 jurors most and therefore won the “Diamond Award” in 2014. Dubai has thus been consecutively awarded for the 2nd time with the highest award of the tourist film- print- multimedia competition “The Golden City Gate”. Since 2001, no country, hotel or destination won the “Diamond Award” two times in a row. Sheikh Saleh Al Geziry (Director of Overseas Promotion & Inward Missons) and Mara Kaselitz (Director of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing) received the award from the initiators of the competition, Wolfgang Jo Huschert.

Since the first “Golden City Gate” was awarded in 2001, more than 1,500 films from 45 countries were honored by the jury members. The awards are divided into categories, such as city, country, region, events, hotels, business, innovation, web pages, print, advertising, tolerance and roadshow.
The jury may also honor special prizes for specific activities in the tourism business. Being the only competition in the tourism industry which honors international film print and multimedia contributions, “The Golden City Gate” sets new standards in the tourism industry for years.
“The Golden City Gate” will also honor films and productions of the tourism industry with the golden, silver and bronze gate in 2015. The best film-contribution out of all categories will also be honored with the “Diamond Award” at the end of the competition.
The international jury is evaluating every contribution with a point-based system and consists of different specific fields like artists, professors, managers, directors, ministers, tourism professionals, and even students. The journalist Dieter Kronzucker from N24 news and the former Henkel CEO Dr. Hans-Dietrich (nowadays the chairman of the board “CARE Germany-Luxembourg”) were jurors during a past event. Even CNN, BBC, the German Welle, DM-SAT, and the broadcaster N8 from Mongolia, reported about the competition.
