This year at the ITB-Cinema, Berlin, during the renowned International Tourism Film and Media Competition “The Golden City Gate”, the South African born singer Prince Damien has been awarded with the Master Award for Tolerance and Diversity for his Music Clip “Easy Breezy”. In his Music Clip he tells in a refreshingly youthful way about the problems of being in love and meets openly tolerant the many facets of love.
In a situation in which several also touristic countries such as Russia and Uganda have tightened their legislation to combat homosexuality drastically, the contribution of Prince Damien was “an important exclamation point for tolerance and diversity at the ITB Berlin 2014.
The prize for Tolerance and Diversity will be awarded regularly in the future to encourage the tourism industry to campaign in their promotion films for tolerance and diversity, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation, according to the will of festival president Wolfgang Huschert.
During the 13th International Tourism Film and Media Competition “The Golden City Gate” 2014 more than 100 films from all over the world have been shown on the big screen at the ITB-Cinema. The international films competed in 13 different categories and many countries have been awarded such as Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Dominica, Dubai, Egypt, Germany, Hungary, India, Latvia, Malaysia, Peru, Poland, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland and UK.
Prince Damien is living in Munich, Germany. He studied at the German Pop Academy in Munich. As a freelance singer and songwriter he performed in many occasions such as the Chiemsee Reggae Festival 2012 and The Cologne Pride Festival in 2013.
