Sydney welcomed 34 business events buyers and five journalists from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan,Singpore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand in spectacular style today, continuing to build on the city’s already strong reputation as a must-visit destination for Asian business events.In town for three days for Dreamtime 2013 the delgates will experience a bespoke educational program designed by Business Events Sydney (BESydney) in collaboration with government,
expert suppliers, attractions, and world-class venues, which will delight and excite both first time and repeat visitors alike.
The harbour city’s very best incentive products will be on show over the next few days, along with some of Sydney’s best-kept secrets. Dreamtime guests will get a taste of what continues to attract visitors from across the globe to Sydney for their business events.
Lyn Lewis-Smith, CEO of BESydney said, “Our business from Asia is growing at a great rate. We are seeing growth in the corporate market that is being driven by new events and repeat events. In the last three years, 85 business events from Asia have been held in NSW, attracting over 41,000 delegates,” said Smith.
Without giving too much away, Lyn Lewis-Smith enthused that the tailored program would tantalise every one of the delegates’ senses.“Sydney has so much to offer the Asian markets. From mouth-watering, especially prepared cuisine, to breathtaking regional escapes, the delegates will be treated to a mammoth three-day Sydney experience that will leave them wanting more!” said Ms Lewis-Smith.“Their whole program has been designed just for them to demonstrate depth and breadth of Sydney’s dynamic offering for the corporate groups. Upon their arrival in the city, the delegates were whisked onto a tall ship to explore the city via its glistening natural harbour before indulging in a sumptuous seafood lunch at Waterfront Restaurant,Walsh Bay.After enjoying some free time to explore the city at their leisure, the group was escorted to the Sydney Opera House for a glittering harbourside celebration, complete with illusion and magic,light, music, mesmerising entertainment and culinary delights. The night concluded with the delegates making an original group light painting.
“It’s day one and the fun has only just begun. Not to give away the program entirely, I can tell you that our international guests will be treated to some of the very best experiences available in Sydney and regional NSW,” said Ms Lewis-Smith.

To date this calendar year, BESydney has secured 28 Asian incentive events that will see delegates spend approximately 63,950 nights in Sydney. This includes the just-announced Pro-Health China Annual Conference 2014 mega incentive.
