On 1st July 2014 aviation expert Götz Ahmelmann (42), currently Lufthansa Head of European Sales and Services, will be taking over as airberlin’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). From next summer on, the experienced airline manager will consequently be responsible for the entire sales and marketing departments within the airberlin group.
Götz Ahmelmann has worked for Lufthansa for over 20 years. Over the past nine years he has held senior executive positions, initially three years as Commercial Manager of the Frankfurt Lufthansa hub, then for six years Götz Ahmelmann has been responsible for the management, coordination and development of the worldwide cooperation partners of Lufthansa, including the Star Alliance partners. Furthermore he designed, implemented and developed different Joint Ventures with other airlines. In the capacity of Vice President Sales and Services, the airline manager from the German city of Kiel is currently responsible for sales in 45 markets and ground handling at more than 100 airport stations. Götz Ahlemann is responsible for more than 1.000 employees.
