Austria, with its glorious Alps and extensive winter tourism facilities, gets ready to take part at EMITT
EMITT Fair has opened a new hall this year with aspirations to brand winter tourism, captivating world winter tourism giants. Austria, the European and international giant in winter tourism with its magnificent Alps, ski facilities and hotels, will share its vast experience in the sector with EMITT 2014.
World’s leading winter tourism countries and international headquarters have set their course towards the EMITT 2014 fair, following the allocation of a new hall exclusively for winter tourism. EMITT, the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel exhibition, will be held for the 18th time at TÜYAP Fairgrounds from January 30 to February 2, 2014. The vast experience of the world’s oldest winter tourism country, Austria, will be present at this year’s fair through the collaboration of the Austrian Commercial Consulate, which not only emphasized Turkey’s great potential for winter tourism but further provided substantial support for EMITT’s winter tourism project.
Ekin Fair Director Hacer Aydın affirms that all sector professionals and visitors attending EMITT 2014 will also have direct opportunity to become familiarized with Turkish and leading international winter tourism headquarters. She further highlights that in addition to the new exclusive hall, Austria’s support – through its participation – is considered quite valuable for both EMITT and Turkey.
Great opportunity for promoting Turkey’s winter tourism
The 2014 EMITT Fair is the perfect opportunity to exhibit Turkey’s winter tourism headquarters and resorts initiating at Bursa’s Uludag and rapidly spreading throughout Bolu, Erzurum, Erzincan, Isparta, Kayseri, Kastamonu, Antalya, Bitlis, İzmir, Ağrı, Kocaeli, Bingöl, Gümüşhane and Kars, points out Aydın.
Aydın further adds that the era of just sea, sand and sun for Turkish tourism is near its breaking point, highlighting that Turkey ranks at the top of a list of countries that provide great opportunities in winter tourism due to its geographical beauty and advanced infrastructure.
Austria earns $10 billion from winter tourism
Austria annually attracts millions of tourists, with the country being a prime choice for skiing. Aydın states that this brings the country a sizeable income of $10 billion in earnings from winter tourism each year. Turkey’s winter tourism potential ranks high, reassures Aydın, emphasizing that it will be possible to have an explosion in this sector within a couple of years with the correct promotional strategies. She further stated that the country’s winter tourism headquarters have solid infrastructures and are unmatched in natural beauty.
Aydın added that tourism professionals attending EMITT 2014 from an expected 70 different countries, will have first-hand opportunity to study Turkey’s winter tourism potential throughout the fair.
EMITT Exhibition: EMITT Exhibition was first held in year 1997 at Istanbul TÜYAP Tepebaşı Fair Center with the name Voyager – International Tourism and Holiday Exhibition. The Exhibition which was held with the name Voyager in 1998 grew very fast in its third year and it moved to TÜYAP Beylikdüzü in 1999, where it was held in 4 halls and a total area of 7000 m2. Since 1999, the exhibition is being held under the name of EMITT – Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition. EMITT Exhibition, which drew a lot of attention from regional countries and international tourism society, did not only grew in terms of number of countries that attend, number of stands or the area it is being held but also became to reflect the tourism sector in Turkey.
