Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG (VI) has taken over three further hotels in Germany. Effective 1 August 2013, the Austrian hotel operator doubles its presence on the German market.
On 1 July 2013, Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG took over the Arcadia Hotel Amberg in the city of the same name (pop. 41,000). The next takeover will follow on 1 August 2013 in Wuppertal.
In both cases, VI is assuming management of the hotel while in full operation. The three Arcadia Hotels (Coburg was taken over on 1 June 2013) will continue to be promoted in cooperation with the sales operations of the Arcadia Group as well as through VI’s channels.

“With the latest management takeovers, we were able to double our market presence in addition to the previous hotels in Munich and Berlin,” says Dr. Andreas Karsten, CEO Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG. “Germany is one of our most important core markets with enormous economic potential.”

The new hotels in Germany were acquired by VI Asset GmbH, a subsidiary of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG. Vendor is the Arcadia hotel group. Both parties have agreed to keep the price confidential.

Vienna International Hotels in Germany – strong in the MICE segment
The recent management takeovers give the Austrian hotel group an attractive portfolio in the city and MICE segment. The angelo Hotel Munich Leuchtenbergring has been booked as a conference venue by many large companies since its opening in 2008. The 4-star superior andel’s Hotel Berlin has made a name for itself as an event location far beyond the city limits. The list of successful events includes the Education Summit of the German Insurance Industry, the European Airline Training Symposium (EATS), the Berlin Milk Forum and the Miss Deaf Germany Pageant. The angelo Hotel Munich Westpark, which opened in January 2013, has already hosted and held conferences and events for big-name carmakers, pharmaceutical firms and famous brands from the consumer goods industry.

The Arcadia Group hotels under VI management comprise the 4-star Arcadia Hotel Coburg with 123 rooms and conference space for 64 people, the Arcadia Hotel Amberg with 110 rooms and 4 conference rooms for up to 120 people, and the Arcadia Hotel Wuppertal with 130 rooms and 6 conference rooms for up to 211 people. The Arcadia Hotel Wuppertal is located in direct proximity to the historic Stadthalle event centre and so offers the perfect conditions for large events.
